Agricultural Engineering is a branch of engineering that focuses on applying technology and scientific knowledge to improve agricultural practices. It is a multidisciplinary field that combines principles from mechanical, civil, electrical, and environmental engineering with biological sciences to address challenges in agriculture. It focuses on soil and water management (conservation), designing, developing and improving farming equipment, machinery, ensuring precision, timeliness and reduced drudgery in farming operations (mechanization), and improving quality of farm produce (processing and value additions).

This department has one well equipped laboratory displaying various models of farm machinery. 

• During the practical classes students are familiarized with different types and models of farm machinery and equipment. 

• Students are provided with hands-on experience in operating tractors and agricultural machinery for various farming operations.

• They are trained in land measurement and layout planning using GIS and GPS tools. 

• The department plans the visits to fields and industries like cold storage units, greenhouse, shade net houses, and different mills to provide practical insights to the students.
