This department focuses on disseminating agricultural knowledge, technologies, and practices to farmers, rural communities, and agricultural stakeholders. Its primary mission is to bridge the gap between scientific research and practical farming, ensuring that innovations and advancements in agriculture are effectively transferred from research institutions to the field. The department actively participates in the ‘Village Adoption Programme” under which one village is adopted by the institute every year. A committee formed with the members from various departments like Agronomy, Horticulture, Entomology, Plant Pathology and headed by a faculty from the Department of Agricultural Extension makes regular visits to the adopted village and helps the farmers in solving the problems in crop cultivation and creates awareness about the new technologies. This department also has a ‘Farmers Information Centre’ in the college premises where the information useful for the farmers is displayed.
